Fried Rice

Fried Rice recipe: my own

Fried Rice


  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 small white or yellow onion chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped ginger
  • 1 tablespoons chopped garlic
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup frozen carrots
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups white or brown rice either make it and refrigerate for 20 minutes or use leftovers
  • 2 tablespoons sliced green onion
  • dash of salt and pepper


In a small bowl whisk egg, put aside. Heat oil over medium heat in a wok or a deep pan. Add  onions and saute for about 3 minutes. Add ginger and garlic and cook additional 3 minutes. Add frozen peas and carrots and cook for 4 minutes. Scoop mixture to the side of the pan, to make room for the egg. Add the egg and keep it moving with a spatula, not yet combining with the peas.  When the egg appears cooked, toss in the rice and saute everything together. Add salt, pepper and top off with green onions.
