Chocolate Covered Pretzels
Posted by DiningDetour on Wednesday, December 30th, 2009 at 2:08 pmThese pretzel rods are easy to make and fun for all ages. They add a festive look as a part of a platter, but can also be wrapped in cellophane, tied with a ribbon and given as gift on their own.
Ingredients
- 2 bags of pretzel rods
- 8 oz bar semi-sweet Ghirardelli chocolate
- 8 oz bar white Ghirardelli chocolate
Toppings – be creative! a few suggestions:
- Crushed oreos or chocolate wafers
- Shredded coconut flakes
- Chocolate sprinkles
- Non-parreles
- Sliced almonds
- Mini chocolate chips or m&ms
- Crushed peppermint
Instructions
Cover a baking sheet with wax paper. Take a paper plate and fold in half. Have all your toppings prepped and close by. Select either the white or dark chocolate bar and break into pieces in a microwavable cup. Microwave in increments of 30 seconds, stirring in between, until chocolate is evenly melted. Using a spoon, coat the tip of the pretzel rod until evenly covered. Sprinkle topping on the pretzel using the plate to catch the excess. Place on the wax paper to cool. Repeat with other toppings!
