A Weekend in the Woods

This past weekend, we escaped to my parents cabin in upstate NY. It was everything a weekend in the woods should be; there was a whole lot of relaxing, a visit to a farm, some fishing and boating on the river, and even cider of the alcoholic variety.

We visited a country farm and scored some fresh veggies to take home as souvenirs. Lately I have an obsession with brussel sprouts and these stalks, well they made my day.

This corn was labeled “popcorn.”  I have to admit, I liked the orange color but was intimidated by the implication of this purchase. Popcorn comes in a bag that Steve microwaves. Do we really need to change that?  I like some things just the way they are. I left the corn on the shelf, took my picture and kept on walking.

With Halloween coming up this weekend, pumpkins and gourds are on the up and up.

These chickens were some of the best looking I have seen. All those colors! They have teal tails, I mean, what more can you ask for in a chicken.

Happy Fall!

Yum! You know brussel sprouts hold a special place in my heart. Those are truly inspirational. Looks like the perfect fall weekend in the woods. Beautiful! Hope you saved some spiked cider for our special weekend next weekend celebrating Jo’s bday!

Love, xo
